A Trip
I'm on my way to Maryland to see my family, whoo hoo! One of the perks of driving is a stop at Mary Jo's Cloth Shop in Gastonia, N.C. I found a couple of pieces of silk and a printed cotton there. I'll try to post pictures when I get home. The nice part about shopping at a discount bricks and mortar store is that you can actually handle the fabric. I'm such a touchy-feely sort about handling the actual stuff and I forget sometime how much I miss it when ordering online. Not to take away from the wonderful folks who bring us amazing fabrics via their websites, but I would never have bought that cotton fabric if I hadn't been able to actually see it and see it among all the other cottons. I got the print in the color I wanted, even though the same print was in about ten other colorways. But dark teal is absolutely one of my favorite colors, and the gold design on it absolutely popped. Can't wait to upload a picture, since my description is leaving a lot to be desired. Although, of course, that's the challenge all those online vendors face all the time. And yes, I know that in my last post I put myself on a fabric diet. In this case, it means that I won't stop a second time when I'm on my way back home!

I had to laugh at your comment that you wouldn't stop at Mary Jo's on the way home. On a recent trip to Asheville we stopped in and shopped. I refrained from buying a couple pieces of fabric I liked. After leaving I kept thinking of them and regretted not making the purchases. My companion convinced me we could stop by on the way back. Fortunately for my purse, it was closed when we got there. But if it hadn't been....
