And in the "just have to be helpful" mode, I came across this article in The Wall Street Journal on how to behave around a sick friend. As one who has more than her share of foot-in-the-mouth moments, I try to read as many helpful articles as I can. This might be common sense to you but for people like me it never hurts to be reminded.
