Sit and Sew

Great fun last Sunday as I attended our ASG chapter Sit and Sew. Most of the ladies were making circular vests per a recent issue of Threads magazine, but as usual I went with the beat of my own drummer and made a Burda tee shirt (Burda 3197). I recently found myself signed up for a cruise with several girlfriends---much more on that later, of course! But I've got nothing to wear. So I find myself joining the Artisan's Square SWAP after all. SWAP stands for Sewing With A Plan and involves being smart about what one sews. It's amazing that I've sewn for so many years without any kind of plan, so this idea certainly resonates with me. I'll post the fabrics I've chosen to go together for several warm weather outfits, as well as details on the projected vacation, soon. Right now I'm happy to report that some of the furniture in my family room is back where it belongs, because I've finally finished skimcoating and painting that side of the room and ceiling. I'm doing this in stages because I'm sixty seven years old.

You go girl! I am taking before and after pics of the reno I am doing with my sister on her rental apt. It's going to be awesome. I'll send you an email.

If I were local, I'd drop by to ooh and ahh over your progress.
