Sewing Something You Hate

Also known as a wadder.  Yep, I wadded up my latest project and threw it in the trash.  It wasn't the pattern, it wasn't the material, it was the combination of both.

Pamela's Patterns cool cardigan.  Isn't it cute?  And a plain  purple ITY knit that I had in my stash leftover from another project

So I thought I would use that leftover purple for a wearable muslin.  Not so much.  I still think the idea wasn't bad, but the actual object (I won't call it a garment) was a big purple grape.  Have I lost my mind or my mojo?
I also had some aged sweater knit in my stash and decided to try a very simple
version of the Style Arc Coco jacket.  Just to see how it would develop.  I almost lost my nerve when I started out unrolling the enormous pattern sheet, but then realized that Chloe, bless her heart, has included a pattern piece for everything, including the lining of the pockets.  Since I won't be lining this, I'm using less than half of the pieces.  Baby steps!

But on second thought, wouldn't I have been better off starting with this pattern?

It plainly says, "Get the Chanel Look without the complication!"  Duh.

First, let me say I admire your tossing it. That is so difficult for me to do. I end up putzing around with something and ultimately cutting it up into something smaller, all the while feeling bad about myself. Sometimes it is best to just toss it. You'll get your mojo back faster if the wadder isn't dragging you down. Onward and Upward!

I think this is a sound choice - for a simple jacket, as you say, why complicate matters? Good luck
