Anything But Ordinary Jacket

I just finished this fleece warmup (and, as you can see from my red face, just played a tennis match in it) from Louise Cutting's pattern for the "Anything But Ordinary" jacket and my TNT pants pattern. I would never have let this picture go into something so long lasting as an internet site had I not been determined to show I've been sewing something lately. This really was a muslin for the jacket. I like the way the front is a little shorter than the back and I don't really mind the dropped shoulder, but I think I look better in a little more fitted shape. Sigh. That grey Vogue jacket looks so much better on me (I can't find a finished picture, but trust me, it looks pretty good); however, it's a lot more complicated to construct. Still, this one worked well for it's purpose. It was cozy in the cool weather and easy to remove as I warmed up on the court. Plus, when I finished tennis I ran errands in rain and kept perfectly dry!

It is not bad at all - you now know which pattern suits you better and this red jacket definitely fits the purpose you intended for it. Looks great with the white tneck and red pants.

I agree that you look better in a fitted jacket. I made this jacket, too, and came to the same conclusion so I gave the jacket away. It was worth the time making it, though, for the pattern instructions full of designer techniques.
