I finished this outfit tonight (image lightened considerablly, it's black and white) even though it will be a couple of weeks before I wear it. Now I have to race to finish Christmas sewing, and a dress for New Year's Eve. I just went through my closet and I have plenty of things to wear New Year's Eve, so that's not really a huge issue. And the Christmas sewing is just a little top for Henry's granddaughter, which is all cut out. You know, however, that nagging feeling you can get when you are so on top of things? Something will jump out of the woodwork at the last minute. However, I was pretty proud of finishing the Peter Pan top as it took a lot of handsewing. The velvet collar did not want to lie properly on the lining (God forbid I should use a walking foot) so I simply cut a big piece of lining, sewed the collar, and then trimmed the excess. I sewed the sleeve linings by hand and the collar to the dress by hand, as well as a hand-picked zipper. All this with the considerable help of my very loving cat! But then, on the web, I saw this dress. Oscar de la Renta, for next fall.
Now maybe I should add some pockets...by hand.

Great outfit - very classic looking. Lovely fabric.
This outfit looks great - it is sooo difficult to photograph some fabrics. You definitely took a lot of care in getting the collar and sleeve linings to be just perfect - well worth the effort...J
I love the fabric. What a lovely, classic outfit.
